Cottonwood Manor

Cottonwood Manor

Dec 19, 2011

Many people in Yukon, Oklahoma pass around several rumors as to the actual identity of the place.  Some say it’s an insane asylum; some say it was a haunted church.  Many kids today claim to know exactly what it is, but then again, they only go at night and assume the worst.  In reality, after digging through old files and asking the next door neighbor,...

Cooperton, OK

Cooperton, OK

Oct 7, 2010

Originally called Cooper, the community was planned in 1899 by Frank Cooper, who had organized a settlement company in anticipation of the opening of the Kiowa, Comanche, and Apache Reservation in August 1901. When he learned the reservation would be opened with a lottery instead of a run, Cooper asked for and was granted 320 acres for his company members. He...

Guthrie Homestead

Guthrie Homestead

Oct 1, 2009

Definitely a creepy place. I couldn’t find any history on the location, but it sits right off I-35 in Guthrie. If you look at pic #66, you will see a vulture or other large bird that had made the top floor his home. The door behind the bird was only accessible through that room, and we couldn’t get past the bird.

Fallis Homestead

Fallis Homestead

Sep 23, 2009

While visiting Fallis for the second time during our Ghost Town feature, I stumbled upon this home right outside town. The sun was setting, and the only sounds were of a nearby oil wells gears creeking as it pumped. Upon entering the back door, I immediately felt scared and unsafe. I have been into many locations that are rumored to have ghosts or hauntings, but...

Labadie Mansion

Labadie Mansion

May 30, 2009

The story of Frank and Samantha Labadie is as ironic as it is haunting. The tale takes place in Copan, Oklahoma. We are not for sure when they were wed but considering the seven year age difference between the two, we are guessing in the early 1880s. But since there are no more Labadie relatives, we are not 100% sure. The story goes like this… Ever since...
