So I went to check out this south Kansas legend. I still dont know much about it. Except it was a school at one time & its supposedly haunted.
I did not go inside. #1 the owners live next door & were outside. #2 The roof was caving in, Now I'm krazy but not that Krazy!

I was born in coffeyville and lived there until we moved to BA...I hv never seen this school/house ever...and I thought I had seen it all...I'm thinking it must be right near the stateline portion,closer to S.coffeyville...interesting

The building is no longer standing, it was demolished a couple years ago. Yes, it was right by the state line, just east of the Verdigris river, shortly after crossing the Parker bridge. That area was actually a settlement named Parker in the 1860s. The settlement collapsed once Coffeyville became the terminal for the railroad, however. All the remaining buildings were destroyed by a flood shortly after the town was abandoned. They used to have haunted houses in it during halloween in the 70s and 80s, but stopped doing once the building was determined to be unsafe. Very neat part of Coffeyville's history.

Neat place... I wonder how long those Jeep CJ5 soft doors have been there. It is really interesting to see the stuff that just gets left in a place like that.
