Just curious if anyone has any old maps of Oklahoma or specific areas in the state they'd like to share. I love old maps. Somewhere I have a link to a ton of Sanborn fire maps I'll try to put up when I find it.

Lots of people (include me) dont like to share such information with the general public for obvious reasons, mainly selfishness of prized locations lol. Having said that, I'm sending you a pm. ;)

I totally understand Fiend. I expected it actually. :D
As for the Sanborn maps. If you have a Metropolitan Library card (okc public) then you can get access to their databases from any computer with the card number and there's access to tons of Sanborn maps as well as other useful tools. Just a tip.

Since these arn't secret, try a google search on "mccasland maps". OSU has some high resolution digital scans of public domain maps of Oklahoma from territorial days into the 1930's.

Thanks DW. I've used those before. I also requested a copy of "A historical atlas of Oklahoma" for my birthday. :) Can't wait.

If you like it, let me know. I snag a copy myself.

Really? I suppose I don't understand why you wouldn't want other explorers to know...unless you are a treasure hunter. Are you all afraid someone will destroy what you've found or... LOL.

Well, the more popular a location becomes, well, the more popular it becomes lol. Basically the more people who know about a place, the more chances of it being destroyed, either by arson or by constant trespassers being caught and the owner decides to demolish it. Other times it just simply gets sealed up tight. With either scenario, no one gets to enjoy it. I've seen this happen with almost every place I've been to.
