A few years ago I explored the tunnel that runs underneath this place with a friend. We didn't have much light with us and I haven't been back.

Its time has come and gone, never to return again. To attempt to renovate and reopen this old dump would be like pouring money down a rat hole.

Shame. This hotel should have been for visiting politicians, instead, it died of mis-management.

The place certainly had some of its bizarre moments after its closure. The unknown owners erected a huge chain link fence around the property and parking lot, held what seemed to be auctions for the furniture in the hotel, and for a few months put up a banner over the hotel sign that simply said "WHAT?".

What indeed, whats going on. It seems truly abandoned now, with the Oklahoma spring storms ripping chunks off the roofs which got hurled into the courtyard from high winds. I can only imagine the amount of water damage inside. It looks like nobody is doing anything to the property other than cutting the grass and trimming the trees to avoid fines by the City of Oklahoma City.

The Lincoln Plaza office complex is still open, but is nearly empty due to a 2010 storm which resulted in major flooding, prompting an evacuation by most tenants to other buildings.

When it was being renovated, before it really closed. I was able to go inside. I was able to see the auditorium with the rotating stage, stereotypical Oklahoma decorations, but it was really incredible. When it was "open" I went inside, but was unable to cross the skybridge to the other side. God if I could have seen that Elvis suite, and the Governor's Club before it was removed! Regrets always plague the explorer...
