we called the police in charge around there and they said as long as you dont see the tresspassing signs you can go on there. and the only thing that a police officer could do is tell you to leave the property. we went down to the road right after the school and turned left on an obvious dirt road until we couldnt be seen. right about there we made our way to the school. i might let you know theres a little old lady who does call the cops anytime she sees somone but you should be able to take some pics before they get there.

i went down there just last night and it was soo cool. so many things happened. we heard voices and actual convorsations. my mom brother and my moms friend always kept in pairs of two. im just visiting down here from vegas but my mom brothers and such have all been there before. they told me a story about how three kids were burned in to broiler room so i just had to check it out. i guess theres a nosy old lady across the way that calls the cops anytime she sees anyone so we roamed the inside til dark. AFTER DARK THINGS GOT MORE AND MORE WEIRD. WE HEARD HELP BEING SCREAMED FROM ALL DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. AND WHILE MY BROTHER AND I WONDERED AROUND ON FLAT OPEN GROUND MY LEG FELT A SUDDEN BURN!!. i had a flash light so i looked. there was a skin breaking scratch all the way down from my knee. i freaked and we all left.

I have lived in the area my entire life as far as haunted goes, i hav spent plenty of time there daytime and night time and yet to experience anything paranormal. It is creepy, but what old abandoned building that is falling apart every second of every day isnt creepy, especially after dark when your mind is playing tricks on ya. Lol

My aunt used to live down the road from here, and I had always heard the satan worshipping stories growing up. It definitely gives a creepy vibe, day or night.

My dad (81), & his 2 older brothers & 1 older sister went to this school. I believe my dad attended Council Valley grade school then to Norfolk in 8th grade thru senior in high school. He graduated in 1948. His 3 older siblings all graduated from Norfolk between about 1937 to 1943. Norfolk had some very good basketball teams in the 1930's & 1940's according to my dad and uncles. I remember when i was a kid that my dad had a letter-mans jacket with the big "N" on it.
As a kid I remember visiting my grandparents farm & my dad taking us to his old high school, in the mid 1950's thru the early 1960's. I'm not sure when the school actually closed. But I have several cousins that attended school there at least thru the 1950's. They all eventually went to Yale schools and graduated in the 1960's.
Several years ago (about 2008) I went to find the school but had no luck. I would be interested in hearing from anyone that knows anything about the old Norfolk school, especially if there is any list of students that attended the school. KRATC@COX.NET

My husband and I visited this school a few years ago. I took lots of pictures and these are the best I put on my computer: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10854319@N08/sets/72... We went upstairs, and the middle of the floor up there doesn't look too safe. We also visited the boiler room, but I haven't put those pictures I took on here. Anyway it did feel kind of creepy down there and is definately a fire trap with only one way out, so needless to say we didn't linger long down there! BTW, you have some great pictures of this place on here! Thanks for sharing.

well i grew up in cushing and i've been there every senior power night as from what i have experianced it is in fact "haunted" i mean there is apparations spirits orbs of light and all that but i mean nothing bad has ever happened to me or anyone i know out there and we've stayed out there all night drinking. from what i've been told there r two different stories one states that 20 children were murdered by the janitor in the furnace room. and the other story was that 2 kids got trapped in the basement while the fire happened back in the late 20's or the late 50's. but i mean like i said its definately not a scary place for me but everyone i know is scared… the sighns when u go there r real obvious the usual temperature drop goose bumps cold chills in ur spine i think its pretty exilerating myself but if u ever want to talk or anything u r more than welcome to contact me at 1-918-399-2372 nathan scott's the name

This is for D Man. Were you in the neighborhood in 1925? Supposedly, that was when there was a fire. The school was rebuilt the next year and then abandoned, I think in the 50's. I have been unable to find anything about the fire or fatalities. So, you are saying, Norfolk School is now on private property? That mean, anyone there would be tresspassing, but it is not posted.

We were there yesterday. So far, I have been unable to find anything out about the fire, or any children being killed in it. Supposedly the school was rebuilt after the fire, though we did find evidence of a fire. Most likely, a result of vandalism.

We went to the Norfolk School yesterday. Nothing out of the ordinary happened. However, when I downloaded my pictures this morning, the pictures we took in the basement had many what people call "orbs". Strange that none of the other pictures had even a slight, "orb", but the basement pictures were full of them. I don't know how to post those pictures on this site.

I grew up less than a mile from the school and I've heard many stories from family members that went there. I've always wanted to check it out and take pictures but I've never wanted to trespass. Ok I don't do the haunted thing. However we our working on geneology and I am putting together a scrapbook and I want to include the old schools. i have also seen the man, one night about 12:00 me and a few friends went to see the school. as we arrived we got stuck in a big hole. as we were outside of the truck i looked down the road that passes the school. i see a man standing, staring at me. he doesn't move at all. when i turn my head to show my buddy, i turn back and he is gone. im not sure what he "it" was but i have no doubt it was there.

ok so a bunch of my friends, and my boyfriend, and i went out there saturday night my one friend found a pile of dirt in the boiler room in the dirt was written help me in red some my boyfriend and him started digging after i told them not to my one friend got a little further down and got burned. turns out today there is a triangle one his back now

yea I was goin to say how funny I remember going out there to party and stuff and never remember anything freaky going on I also remember one of my friends writing that satans house on the wall when you go in so Iam not sure its really haunted!! but who really knows!!
