It's such a sore sight to see! I agree with the other comments, it's practically a ghost town. My husband comments each time we get close to Nowata on our way to Kansas that we're about to pass through the town I hate. It's so ugly! I think it was a thriving town at one time due to the oil business. We used to spend summers with our grandparents there in the 1970s and it was still a pretty active little town, but the last time I was there, it really did look like a ghost town.
