According to City Council Resolution documents, 7.2 acres was purchased through a grant authorized by Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961 and more land was conveyed to the City from W.K.Y. Television Inc. a Delaware Corporation over time in January of 1964. The parks department sold the park (29.15 acres more or less) in the time period of 2005-2006.
