Ever figure out what the place was for? I visited on a trip to Tulsa (I no longer live there) and couldn't figure it out.

I've been here before so I already know where it is, and I was wondering if you got permission to go on the site. I want to continue going here, but I'm worried about getting in trouble for trespassing. Any suggestions?

I think I may have found it, use Google earth and enter long and lat of 35 57'50.82"N and 95 51'49.17"W from the looks of the image on Google earth there are pads from where there was once structures.

KB, would love a family name associated w/the pig farm so I can do more research. I have been there and this was a lot more than a minor pig farm from the looks of it…why was it abandoned? The land must be worth $ sitting in industrial Tulsa so close to the river and the tracks…

It's at 21st and Union. West side of the Arkansas River. Take the roads like your going to Chandler park but take a right at 21st. There's a hole in the fence. Enter at your own risk. Best to do it on a Saturday or Sunday when there isn't anyone around. It's really creepy…

Hi- Sorry to be off point. Have been in Colorado since '79 but lived in the last house on Utica at Tulsa for six years. The land was all open in those days and I understand it is all developed now. But in that area we called "The Bend" we encountered some very scarey stuff that has stayed with me for 30 years. East of S. Utica, east of where they put in a highschool called Robinson I think there was an abandoned estate, red brick geogian house. One of the scariest places I've ever been. I suppose it's gone. Anyone ever heard of it?

It was on my great grandfathers hog farm. The main house is still there and on the national register of historic homes. There is nothing left of any of the out buildings or other farm structures the POW's were kept in. You can not tell it was even a farm anymore. You can go to the Bixby Library and learn about it in their historical archives.

I have been there once before, but I am taking my friend that recently moved to Tulsa there soon. It is small and doesn’t strike you as a military installation, but it is the only place in the area that matches that description. It is owned by the city and is locked down. High fences and locked gates surround the complex. I will take photos next time I am out there and post them here. Good luck out there. Stay safe and out of trouble. I have searched for it in the past and came up empty handed. From the info I have and small amount of exploring I have done in that area, the location should be in between 141st and 131st and in between garnett and mingo. I am not 100% sure on the location, but it should be in that area, especially since it fits the description. But I have no idea how old that info is, which will make it hard to find since there have been many new neighborhoods built down there in the past decade or so. There are many places in Oklahoma that were used as pow camps, some of them were on farmers land. So, it could look like anything, but I havent found anything in the area that looks like a "military installation", and I especailly havent found any structures that date back to WWII. It could have been torn down for developement though… There is a chance I could have missed it, but I would like to say I'm an expert at finding places. I fear this could just be an urban legend though, but if anyone out there knows where it is, or has some better info on its existance, let us know please!
